One of the World's most rare and beautiful limb cast
(Agate) known as the Yellow Cat Redwood, this was the name given to it by
early collectors because of it's Brilliant colors and Dazzling paterns. These
are of the Highest Gem Quality, extremely rare specimens, which will be sought
after treasures for Jewelry or privet collections for years to come.
A brief history of Yellow Cat Redwood in laymen's terms.
Altough
the name seems to imply what we know today as a large tree, Yellow Cat Redwood
was at one time most likely a conifer wood, not much larger than ten inches in
diameter. Now completly replaced by minerals. Most specimens found are much
smaller. The name Yellowcat Redwood, describes the color and location.

Q: Where is it found?
A: It is found in an area about twenty
five miles north of Moab Utah called Yellow Cat, which is in an old uranium
and vanadium mining district that goes back to it's discovery in the early
nineteen hundreds. The Geologic history of this area is recorded in the
different layers of Rock and Sediment laid down over many years one of which
is called the Morrison formation. The Morrison is divided into two members,
the lower called Salt Wash, and the upper called the Brushy Basin. It is in
the Brushy Basin that you will find this most rare and beautiful specimen.

Q: How did it get there?
A: Back when Dinosaurs roamed the planet
during the Jurassic period the plants and vegetation were caught or trapped in
lakes or river systems where they were covered by sediments leaving them to
rot or decay, the void left by the decaying plant over time was replaced by
silica, quartz, minerals or crystals, now only a cast (carnelion replacement)
of the original form called Agate.

Q: Why is it so rare?
A: Because of all the conditions that took
place in order to form agate and produce the colors that are found in these
specimens it is unlikely that there will be many more discoveries of this
quality in the entire world.

Q: Can I own one of these specimens?
A: Yes, these speciemens are now available
from a privte collection, these are one of a kind and will only be available
as long as supplies last. Because of the fragile nature of these limb casts, a
great deal of time is dedicated to the removal and restoration of these
specimans. A small percentage of the specimens found can be restored as
complete limb casts. When this is not possible, individual full round sections
are prepared and polished for sale at very reasonable prices.
